What Is Cold Plunge?

Cold plunges involves short, controlled immersion in cold water to support recovery, circulation, and nervous system regulation.

When the body is exposed to cold, blood vessels temporarily constrict. Once you warm back up, circulation rapidly increases, helping flush metabolic waste, reduce inflammation, and deliver fresh oxygen and nutrients to muscles and tissues. This natural response is one reason cold immersion has been used for recovery and resilience across cultures for centuries.

Cold Plunge Submersion has known Benefits Without Overloading the Nervous System

It works by activating the body’s natural response systems—circulation, inflammation control, and nervous system regulation.

Water in the 50–55°F range is cold enough to:

·Trigger blood vessel constriction and circulation rebound

·Reduce inflammation and muscle soreness

·Stimulate alertness and mental clarity

·Support recovery after physical activity

This makes 50°s-range plunges especially appropriate for those first-time cold plunge users, individuals managing chronic pain or inflammation, and people seeking recovery and stress regulation.

A More Accessible, More Intentional Approach

Cold plunge therapy should meet the body where it is. By keeping water temperatures in the 50°s, we create an experience that is:

·Effective without being extreme

·Supportive rather than punishing

·Appropriate for a wider range of clients

A Note on Quality

At HealthyMe, cold plunge sessions take place in our Frozen8 XL cold plunge tub. It's capable of accommodating someone up to 6'7" and weighing 375lbs. It is a commercial-grade system with a military-grade exterior shell, and capable of maintaining a consistent temperature as low at 37°. It is designed for precise temperature control, consistent performance, and sanitation—ensuring every session is safe, repeatable, and effective.

As cold plunge submersion has grown in popularity, many lower-grade options have entered the market. These may look similar on the surface, but often lack the temperature stability, sanitation, and comfort required.

At HealthyMe, cold plunge sessions are performed in a private, calm environment. These are built around commercial-grade technology—not shortcuts — allowing clients to build tolerance safely over time.
